It was a long way from awarding the MTB-O competitions to Germany to the holding of the event. We would like to thank all participants for coming as well as all helpers and supporters.
The organization of a World Cup in one sport is both a curse and a blessing. On the one hand it is an honour to welcome the best athletes of the world in their homeland. On the other hand this also means an immense effort to meet all requirements. The combination with a European Junior Championship and a Senior World Championship additionally increases the challenge.
At least from a technical point of view, three parallel competitions were held over the days around the competition centre on the Rabenberg. In many other areas it was possible to merge the requirements without any problems.
On a purely voluntary basis, the planning and organisation of such a major event means a great deal of voluntary commitment on the part of everyone involved. The success depends not insignificantly on the goodwill of the local decision-makers and the association.
Last but not least, the participants decide whether it was worth participating in a competition.
From our side we would like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of the event. We are also happy that so many athletes from all over the world took the road to the competitions in the Erzgebirge.
We hope that all participants will remember the event despite or perhaps because of the sometimes extreme weather conditions.
See you soon.
